The NIOA Newsletter - October 2021 Edition

Hello friends of the NIOA!

NIOA Slate of Officers:

At the October meeting, we will be accepting nominations for NIOA officers. Katie Hernandez has served four years as an officer and would like to hand off the reigns to a committed member who will work with John & Tim to continue providing valuable training and other opportunities to our members. If you are interested in serving, but have questions, please feel free to contact any one of your officers: John Magsam, Tim Woodward or Katie Hernandez. Or, give one of the previous officers a call (Bill Reed, Craig Williams, Jeff Krotke, Jeff Hersha, to name a few). We have streamlined a lot of the work required to serve as officer; it does require a small time commitment, but it is worth it. Please, please, please consider serving!

NIOA Events to finish out 2021:

• October 13: Steuben Lakes Regional Waste District - We are applying for 2 WW Technical CEU's and 2 Water General CEU's. RSVP by 4PM October 11th (RSVP must be received for food planning purposes). Registration begins @ 10 AM; tour of the treatment plant begins at 10:30 AM; lunch & business meeting from 11:30 - 12:30; presentation will begin immediately after. We will hold elections at this meeting - please consider offering to serve as a board member to the NIOA!
• November 10: Warsaw Wastewater Utiltiy.
• December 8: Christmas Lunch & Training in Nappanee.

IWEA Events:

• October 28: Collections Systems and Stormwater SpecialtyConference. The IWEA Collection Systems and Stormwater Specialty Conference is returning to central Indiana, hosted at the Forum Conference Center in Fishers, IN. This year’s theme is Out of Sight, Not Out of Mind.RSVP by October 21st.
• December 9: Annual Meeting at Marion Utilities. Join us for 2+ hours of free training and our annual business meeting.
