Welcome to the Northern Indiana Operators Association website.

Our mission…

To protect our most precious of resources, water, for our communities, our environment, and our future.  To provide professional and educational opportunities to our members as we strive to serve, educate, and reach out to our communities.

The NIOA was the first operators association outside of the IWPCA.  Established on September 9th, 1969, the NIOA has been serving the needs of wastewater operators ever since. The demographic area in which the NIOA covers are the Michigan state line to the North, the Ohio state line to the East, Highway 24 to the South, and Highway 421 to the West.

The NIOA has always had one of, if not the highest memberships of all the operators associations.  In 2004 there were 230 paid members.  Our members are not only operators, but engineers, scientists, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, governmental representatives and citizens throughout Northern Indiana.  Thus making our organizations knowledge pool extraordinary!

The NIOA is proud to announce that Barb Smith will be gracing us with her angelic presence and priceless knowledge for two days of her Certification Review Class.

The certification class will be held on Thursday March 20th, and Friday March 21st, 2014 and will be held at the City of Warsaw WWTU located at:

2056 North 150 West
Warsaw, IN. 46580
(574) 372-9562

They are located behind G & G Excavating, so when your GPS tells you that you have reached your destination and you see you are turning into an excavation company don’t worry.  Turn in and go straight to the back where you will see a chain link fence.  Those are the gates to our facility.  You will notice an administration/lab building on your left.  That is where the class will be held, on the second floor in our training room.  Parking will be posted, or there will be someone outside to direct you.

The cost of this year’s class will be $100/person and is a non-refundable fee I must receive your payment no later than Friday March 14th, 2014!!  The reason being is that I need to make sure that I have all the handouts made up in time for the class.  If you did not sign up or pay in advance by the due date, there is a good chance that there will not be enough study materials to go around.  I’m not saying you will be turned away, but it would help tremendously to know ahead of time.

For this class YOU will be responsible to bring with you paper, calculator, and some form of writing instrument.  Lunch will be provided.  Class will go from 8am - 4pm.  There will be CEU’s available for those of you that already have certification and need CEU’s.

You can make your payment by making a check made payable to:

                                                                                                Northern Indiana Operators Association, Inc.

And sending it to:

      C/O Joe Hughes
561 N Keyser St
    Bremen, IN 46506

Or by paying by credit card/debit card on our website through PayPal.  If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Remember I have to have your payment by Friday March 14th, 2014!
