- Annual NIOA Cookout. We will be back at Potato Creek State Park this year for the annual NIOA cookout. If you plan on attending, please RSVP no later than Friday, July 7th. Registration starts @ 10:00, Tour of the WWTP will begin @ 10:15, lunch will be served around 11:30, and one hour of training will begin at 12:30. We will apply for 2 CEU's. - New job postings - Astbury Water Technology is currently looking for a Water/Wastewater Technician and Mishawaka Public Utilities is currently looking for a Chemist in their Wastewater Division. - NIOA Doug Brookhart Scholarship - Nominations Needed. We are still looking for nominees for the 1st official Doug Brookhart Scholarship! As a tribute to Doug Brookhart, for his support for NIOA and his assistance in all aspects of the important work done by plant operators, a scholarship has been created. More information on the Doug Brookhart Scholarship can be found here. Deadline is July 12.
- Operator Certification Class. Bill Boetcker plans on teaching a Wastewater Operator Certification Class at the Auburn WPC starting the week of July 10th or July 17th. The class will be held on Tuesday or Thursday nights, depending on the needs of those registering for the class. The class will run for 8 weeks, from 5pm - 8pm. Cost is $300. Contact Bill Boetcker to register or for more information.
- IWEA Annual Conference. The IWEA Annual Conference will be held at Westin Downtown, August 22-24. There are a lot of opportunities for training at the conference this year, including Wastewater Operator Certification Exam prep classes taught by Barb Smith.
