The NIOA - January Newsletter
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a safe Christmas and New Year holiday - now it's back to work!
I apologize for the delay in getting this information out, but we just finalized the details of next week's meeting. The January NIOA Meeting will be held at the Coyote Creek Country Club (The Lodge at Coyote Creek, 4935 Hillegas Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46818), just down the road from EJP's store. EJP's Safety Director, Ray Marang, will be presenting "Safety 101" and after lunch (provided by EJP), there will be a presentation on valve maintenance. We will apply for (1) General CEU and (1) Technical CEU for Wastewater and (2) General CEU's for DW continuing education. Please arrive between 10 & 10:30am - training will start at 10:45 sharp. Lunch will be served after the first session, and the second session will begin at 1pm. Please RSVP by 5pm Monday, January 9th.
There are currently two jobs posted on the NIOA website: The Kendallville Wastewater Treatment Plant has a Laboratory Technician vacancy and the South Bend Department of Public Works has a General Operator position open. The NIOA posts water and wastewater related jobs for free for our members!
The IWEA Operator's Challenge will be held at the Clay Township Regional Waste District (north side of Indy) in May. The NIOA would like to put together at least one team to compete in this event. If you are interested or have questions about how you can participate, please contact Mike, Bill, or Craig.
Have a great week!
